LOS ANGELES — Girls Incorporated will hold its fourth annual Los Angeles Celebration Luncheon at the Regent Beverly Wilshire Hotel on Tuesday, November 16th. The event will honor individuals and companies who affirm girls' rights by creating images of strong, smart, and bold(sm) women and girls. Girls Inc., the nation's leading advocate for girls, has long understood the important role the entertainment community plays in shaping the aspirations of young women and works closely with the media to encourage realistic, inspirational depictions of women.
The 1999 Celebration Luncheon honorees are:
Kelly Goode Abugov, Head of West Coast Programming and Creative Affairs, Lifetime Television
Jordan Levin, Executive Vice President, Programming, The WB
Linda Simensky, Vice President of Original Animation, The Cartoon Network
Nancy Tellem, President, CBS Entertainment
The Corporate Vision Award will be presented to the WNBA for its pioneering work to popularize women's sports. Tamecka Dixon of the L.A. Sparks will accept the award on behalf of the league.

On the morning of the event, the honorees and co-chairs will take part in a Girls' Rights Media Literacy Event. Girls from Girl Inc. affiliates will present treatments for television shows and movies based on the Girls' Bill of Rights to the participating executives.
